14k Yellow Gold Akoya Cultured Pearl 6.5-7mm Necklace and Stud Earring Set
Amazon.com Product Description
Project radiance and sophistication in this gorgeous Akoya cultured pearl necklace and stud earring set. Lustrous round Akoya cultured pearls, with a diameter range of 6.5 to 7mm, are individually knotted on silk cord to form the 18-inch necklace. This classic pearl strand is finished with a fancy filigree clasp, in radiant and durable 14 karat yellow gold. The matching stud earrings also feature round 6.5-7mm Akoya cultured pearls, with 14 karat yellow gold posts and backings.
These are fine quality round pearls, well-matched for size, shape and color, with light blemishing and a beautiful deep luster. Their color is white-rosé–in other words, white but with a slight rosy hue. Akoya cultured pearls are produced in salt-water mollusks in Japan and China. They were the first type of pearl to be cultured, back in the 1920s, and remain the most popular and classic choice for pearl strands. Akoya cultured pearls are prized for their smoothness, roundness, and gorgeous deep luster. Though they may look similar to freshwater cultured pearls, when the two are placed side-by-side, the Akoya pearl’s superior qualities are clear.
A traditional pearl strand and matching pearl stud earrings are a versatile addition to any woman’s fine jewelry collection. They will complement everything from a daytime professional outfit to an evening cocktail dress, and their timeless beauty ensures they will look as classy and elegant years from now as they do today.

Lovely necklace. However, it was delivered without the pearl studs and Amazon has gotten back to me regarding this. As a result, it was a disappointing purchase.

Thanks Amazon ! I needed a ideal gift for a special friend and this set should do it. With the extra discount, I could get a little something for myself.

they are not so impressive as other reviewers suggest. I held them up to the light and looked at each pearl, a few of them have bumps and chips. Maybe i’m just being picky, since i never bought pearl before. Regardless, i’m not so impressed.

Goal: get her a gift SHE wants. That’s a thought, huh, guys? The trouble is we get anxiety, because it’s not something we know much about. So I just talked with her and listened and learned …about her. With some reading and a little shopping, this chicken was willing to buck up.
My wife says, “I love them!” Yay, a big move on my part. I was scared of buying this (especially online), because firstly I know nothing about jewelry, and my wife used to work as Borsheim’s Fine Jewelry. I did do a lot of research before buying these… but you know, at the price, I was very willing to be brave.
Tried getting her something she’ll wear at least once. Guess what? She wears it all time time! Yippy for us!
“As long as somebody doesn’t get up in your face, they won’t notice the imperfections.” I have a “for real” wife, who understands… where they come from. They’re natural. Some are going to be more perfect than others. But we can’t afford thousands on jewelry.
This goes with practically anything she wears and it really shows how beautiful she is. Just now, we listened to “What a Beautiful Mess” by Jason Mraz, highlighting our growing together over this brave lil’ click at Amazon… Silly, ok a bit. A few tears on her side, but some man tears on my side. So guys, sure beats buying her a bowling ball, toe-socks, or another DVD for a stocking stuffer.
Why 5 stars? For the price, it’s perfect, so 5 stars.

The pearls were lovely, and matched well. A lovely color, and with only minor imperfections. I was so happy at first and tossed all the packaging, sure I would not regret this purchase. Then, on the third time wearing the necklace the cord that threaded the pearls frayed and tore, leaving it unable to be worn, or returned. I was sorely disappointed. Perhaps it was just my item, but be aware when purchasing. I still think the pearls were a steal, and good quality, but I’m upset that I have to take it to a jeweler now to have it repaired, incurring more costs.
