Beads are plastic, not metal, including the inscribed ones. But my daughter and her BF have been wearing theirs for several weeks not and so far, the plastic thread hasn’t broken and no beads have fallen off.
It’s priced too high (and shipping was very high) for the inexpensive materials but it made a great going away gift for the BF who was moving out of the country.
